A residential area in the South of the City of Sheffield - South Yorkshire.

This site is under construction, but hopefully still provides a little bit of useful (not to mention useless!) information about the region and also Sheffield as a whole. The latest changes (December 2006) are on the Local Links section, which offers a developing list of links to local businesses, people and places.

*10th December update: Thanks to everyone who attended this year's Christmas Fayre at the Meersbrook Play Centre (in Meersbrook Park) - it was a huge success and a good time was had by all! Thanks also to the many local and regional organisations who kindly donated prizes to the tombola and prize raffle. is planned to become a not-for-profit online resource for residents of the community and the City of Sheffield as a whole.

We've received this request for local knowledge/help from Dave Mawson

"I'm looking for any photos of the work done (showing the stages of construction if possible) to tunnel the Meers brook, under the back of Albert Road Post Office (end of Molloy Street). Do you know of anyone who may have some?"
  • If anyone by chance does possess any such historical photographs, please get in touch with Dave via Email on: (Dave has already tried the "Picture Sheffield" web resource from Sheffield City Council, but with no success..)
